'Salute to the Farmer' sculpture "Salute to the Farmer" was sculpted by Dr. Kenneth Fox in 1977, and is part of Porterville's Bicentennial. The statue is located at the corner of Henderson Avenue and Main Street.

The Porterville Fair was founded in 1947. Local 4-H and FFA exhibitors vie for blue ribbons during the Fair, which runs mid-May at the Porterville Fairgrounds on East Olive Avenue near Plano Street.
