Sequoia National Park was established in 1890. It is California's first
National Park and is America's second oldest park. The southern entrance to Sequoia
National Park is about an hour's drive from Porterville on Highway 198.

There are more than 1200 campsites and a variety of lodging accomodations. Popular
sites in Sequoia include Crescent Meadows, the General Sherman Tree (the largest
living thing on earth), Moro Rock, and the Giant Forest (a magnificent sequoia
grove).
